Machine tool Construction Facts

The headstock is a thick walled casting designed to provide quiet and smooth running in all gear ranges and spindle speeds.  Remedy lathes contain precisely hardened and ground gears that are fitted to hardened and ground shafts that have been dynamically balanced.  All gears are thoroughly tested for tooth accuracy and engagement.  Rugged high grade alloy gears are hardened & ground to achieve a smooth, quiet and vibration

-free operation.

The main spindle is supported with taper roller bearings and preloaded roller bearings to ensure high running accuracy throughout all speed ranges. This heavy duty design insures that the spindle is rigid and concentric.

Pressurized circular lubrication from separate electric pump and oil reservoir (Pictured) provides a constant flow of clean and cool oil to all gears and bearings which maintains thermal stability. Controlling oil temperature in the headstock prevents thermal expansion. (See Pictured oil cooler with each machine)

Gear changing of the 3 speed transmission is done by an electric motor, the programed RPM automatically selects the range when the RPM setting is called for in the program.  The 5000 line Nemicon encoder is located on a secondary spindle shaft and provides the exact position and speed reading for spindle’s infinitely variable RPM.

The four parallel V-belts assure drive in extremely stable, smooth running with minimum vibration.

Powerful frequency YASKAWA vector inverter and main spindle motor meets international standards and is dynamically balanced to optimize torque and horsepower.

Bed and Carriage

One piece machine base casting in all 18” to 25” models providing a solid and stable foundation for all our lathe’s.

It is attached to high grade Meehanite™ alloyed cast iron precision ground bed. 13.8” wide bed ways are induction hardened to HRC 48-56 and then annealed to relieve stress. This combination produces outstanding structural rigidity and excellent vibration absorbing ability. Dovetailed carriage and cross slides are both precision ground. Saddle is laminated with Turcite-B and is also hand scraped so that the matching surfaces will contain oil pockets to increase life and reduce friction.

X, Z axis ball screws are supported by forced angular contact bearings for smoother movement.

The motor end is fixed and the free end is supported by angular contact bearings. Build-in electronic stops on the 

X & Z axes to eliminate the chance of over traveling.

Front mount cutting turret and rear mount servo motor will eliminate the cantilever on the saddle. Reducing unbalancing and rocking of the saddle when heavy cutting!

Forced auto lubrication on X, Z axis ball screws, contacting surfaces and gibs ensures high resistance to wear and prolong life-span of the contacting parts.

State of the art electronics:

A completely sealed electric cabinet with power disconnect to prevent fluid or dust from entering. Integrated electrical engineering with I/O plate and components located to increase the control system’s performance and to allow for easy troubleshooting and repair.   External mounting of the breaking resisters dissipate heat build-up when user is stopping, or reversing the spindle.Powerful top-and-down mounted  fans use hot & cold air principle to reduce heat build-up in the electric cabinet.  Each electric component is CE certified and is easy to maintain. 

A top mount warning light displays three colors to indicate the state of the machine. Red means error within operation procedure; yellow displays when the job is finished; and green is showing machine is in the state of running. (Note: This applies only to Fagor controller; other controllers  may have a different setting.)

Full Enclosure with 2 door design

Standard sized metal enclosures for all Remedy Lathes. Rear access door on rear splash guard and right side  guard door provided for X & Z axis, ensures easy axes maintenance and assembly adjustments.

Ease of Operation 

Remedy Lathes build the Fagor 8055 control panel into a sliding door for operator convenience and ease of operation. Electronic handwheels provide carriage and cross slide movement for touch-off during set up and programming. The cross slide can be fitted with multiple tool holding options from a quick change manual tool post  4 or 8 position ATC automatic turret.

Remedy Turning Center Purchase terms.

 Remedy CNC Lathes are F.O.B. – Southampton, PA.

 We will load your truck or trailer at No Charge daily or weekends.

 Please note that pick up machinery terms are always prepaid, and you must have proper tie down materials.

Knuth Lathes are F.O.B. Chicago

Availability – Call for our latest stock list as it changed often and some larger machines need to be ordered.

Shipping – The machines, oil and tooling are normally shipped to Remedy, 

Then our rigger will bring the machine to you.

Rigging – Remedy will provide you accurate pricing specifically for your purchase.

Pricing varies because of machine size and weight.

Payment – 40% deposit with order, Balance due Net 10 days from delivery to your facility.

Remedy will be available to complete the installation and training before that time.

Should the customer require installation delays 90% payment is due at 10 days.

Larger or custom orders will have a 3 payment schedule, call for details

Taxes – Federal are included, any state or local taxes are the responsibility of the purchaser.

Some states and/or counties have local tax’s and we cannot be liable for these. 

Training – Remedy offers in depth and detailed in-house training for all new customers.  Customers purchasing a second or more machine tool, may not require more training and this is one reason training is an optional item. If additional training is needed we will work with you to create a customized package specifically to fit your needs.

Warranty – 12 Months limited warranty for any defects in material or workmanship of the machine tool and all factory installed items. 

Validity – Remedy Machine Proposals are valid for 30 days.  All specifications are copied from factory literature and they are deemed correct.
